Many Killed As Alleged Police Extortion Causes Multiple Accident Involving 3 Cars, Bus & Truck In Osun (Photos)



Up to 25 people reportedly lost their lives around 11:50am yesterday, after a truck rammed into 4 vehicles at a police checkpoint along Erin Ijesha-Akure road, Osun State.

A Facebook user identified as Prince Babatunde Adegbite, has taken to the social networking platform to share some graphic photos from the scene of a multiple vehicle accident which occurred at police checkpoint along Erin Oke Ijesha-Akure road in Osun State, and led to the death of 25 people.

It was learnt that the accident which involved three private cars, an 18 seater commercial bus and a beer truck, was allegedly caused by policemen ‘extorting’ money from the motorists before the beer truck lost control after a brake failure.

Babatunde who posted the photos, also revealed that the policemen ran away from the scene after the accident, before the arrival of Civil defense and FRSC personnel and some soldiers who helped in evacuating the victims.
